The word “blaque” with a “que” reclaims the term black that has often been used in a derogatory way.
ENTITLED BLAQUE is about owning your narrative and rewriting the script.
We’ve been told to be grateful for the scraps, to shrink ourselves, to dim our light, accept the bare minimum, take what we can get, we’re told we’re too loud, too expressive, have attitudes, we’re not deserving of the best I mean we can go on and on…
I’m sorry, but that’s not a narrative that I have EVER chosen to believe.
We are deserving of ALL great things, experiences, and opportunities…
